Urbex Road Trip

In October 2022, I met up with some urban explorers from Norway to explore abandoned places all over Europe.
On the morning of the first day of the trip, we met each other in Budapest. From there, we drove to a smaller city in the eastern region of Hungary to explore an abandoned power plant. Because demolition of some buildings had already started, we only could explore one of many buildings. Inside we found large machine halls but also small office rooms with many things left behind.

Here we took a break from exploring

While taking a break from exploring in an overgrown opening between two buildings, we were spotted by a young man. It turned out that he was a security guy. Luckily, he was very relaxed, and we were just asked to leave the property. While accompanying us back to the car, he told us more about the history of the place and even recommended us another abandoned industrial site nearby which we could explore!

Of course, we didn't waste this opportunity, and we drove a few minutes towards the other factory. After arriving there, we realized that the buildings weren't entirely abandoned. There were quite some workers everywhere, and we also saw some equipment which seemed to still be used. Not wanting to get caught again, we asked a worker if we could explore the abandoned buildings, to which he luckily agreed.

Because it already started to get dark, we left the property after exploring another couple of hours and booked a cheap place to sleep further in the direction of the border to Slovenia.
