Work And Travel In Canada

In 2023 and 2024, I travelled to Canada under the Working Holiday Visa in order to get an insight into a variety of different jobs and explore some of the most unique places along the way.
My goal was mainly to travel to the western and norther provinces with higher mountains and more interesting terrain features - compared to a mostly flat landscape in the east.

After arriving in Vancouver in July, my first destination was a Workaway place close to Princeton, where I would be provided with room and board in exchange for a few hours of helping out with various projects every day.
As it ended up being a wonderful place with really kind hosts, I ended up staying here a lot longer than expected and was even able to go on a backpacking trip through the Cascade Mountains and multiple other adventures during my stay.

In September, I left Princeton and headed a bit further east to work on a farm close to Kelowna for another month. On one of my days off, I met up with a local urban explorer and we visited an abandoned resort and an old mine together.
Since the resort was under pretty good surveillance and it wasn't unlikely to get caught, we decided to explore the resort early in the morning before sunrise. After we managed to get inside, we found a restaurant with many things left behind and a variety of attractions like viewpoints, suspension bridges, a sky lift, and a huge sun dial. After that, we a bit further drove south and hiked up a mountain to explore a small historic mining tunnel.
